Probate and Administration - High Court Process

Before the assets in an Estate can be transferred to the beneficiaries, Probate or Administration will often need to be obtained from the High Court. We assist with the Court Application and process required to obtain the necessary grant of Administration from the Court.

Estate Assets and Property

When a person dies, the assets and property in their name, become part of their "Estate." This may include bank accounts, life insurance policies, superannuation schemes, Kiwisaver, investments, shares and property, as well as personal and household items. We advise you how to deal with the assets to carry out the administration.

“Small” Estates

For “small” Estates (no individual asset exceeds $15,000.00 in value), formal Administration or Probate from the High Court may not be necessary. We will advise you on the requirements and processes for administering these Estates.
